What is an Import Export Code?

Import Export Code (in short IEC Code) is a ten-digit number granted by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, to any bonafide person/ company for carrying out import/export operations.

DGFT has issued a notification for applying, updating IEC (Now e-IEC). It is mandatory Every year from April to June even if, all details of IEC remain same all existing holders have to confirmed compulsory. Otherwise, IEC may be de-activated if not upgraded.
